Charles Reeder Battaglia also known as Carlobatta was born in October 9th, 1940 in McKeesport, PA. Carlobatta began creating his artworks in 2009. His style primarily consists of three dimensional bas-relief or intaglio works consisting of a broad range of mixed media materials on board or canvas. Carlobatta gathered much of his inspiration by browsing through museums observing works from the old masters of impressionism, contemporary art and new age modern art. He uses these elements and incorporates them into his own nature inspired and imaginative style. His works consist of a combination of materials including wood, bark, glass, wire, joint compound materials, virtually anything he can find, on wood canvas. Carlobatta’s unique style stems from his vast and colorful imagination, the architectural structures that are often three dimensional creations.
